AFTER 27 YEARS OF USING HIS EARS AND FINGERS TOGETHER WITH HIS BASS AS A PRIMARY VEHICLE OF EXPERIENCE AND EXPRESSION DAN IMMEL BEGAN TO SUPPLEMENT HIS OUTLOOK AND OUTPUT WITH HIS EYES AND VISUAL AWARENESS. PROVIDING FOUNDATION AS A BASS PLAYING MUSICIAN WITH A CAREER CULMINATING IN 7 YEARS OF TOURING WITH CIRQUE DU SOLEIL, HIS TRAVELS WITH THAT TROUPE LED HIM TO OVER 50 COUNTRIES. THIS TIME SWIFTLY EXPANDED HIS PERSPECTIVE OF THE WORLD: IT'S PEOPLE WITH ALL THEY SEW, IT'S LANDS WITH ALL THEY GIVE, AND AT THE LUCKIEST OF MOMENTS, HIS PLACE WITHIN IT ALL.

IN HIS HANDS, WHERE HIS BASS ONCE LIVED PERMANENTLY, HIS CAMERA HAS NOW COME TO SHARE THE TERRITORY OVER THE LAST DECADE.  HE HAS SHOT ON SIX CONTINENTS, ASSISTED AND PRODUCED SEVERAL MAGNUM PHOTOGRAPHERS (David Alan Harvey, Christopher Anderson, Susan Meiselas, Jonas Bendiksen, Alex Majoli, Thomas Dworzak) OVER THE COURSE OF SEVERAL PROJECTS WITH MAGNUM PHOTOS AND NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC in RIO DE JANEIRO and BRAZIL at large.

FINDING THE HUMOR, DEPTH, AND BEAUTY IN THE POMP AND CIRCUMSTANCE OF ANY COUNTRY OR CULTURE, DAN CONTINUES TO SEEK THE ELEMENTS OF HUMANITY THAT DEFINE OUR EXPERIENCE HERE: OUR STORIES, BOTH INTIMATE AND PUBLIC, OUR FOOTSTEPS, OUR ENVIRONMENTS NATURAL AND MANUFACTURED, OUR LABORS AND SUSTENANCE, ALL WITH THEIR PLACE UPON THE PALETTE FROM WHICH HE CONTINUES TO PULL.
